Romania, summer 2005

This time I invite you to a photo-trip to Romania, to Bucegi mountains, painted monasteries of Bukovina and to an exhibition of works of an artist from Plesza

The first two links lead to the views from the Bucegi mountains and their highest peak, Omu - the mountains in the middle of Romania, south of Brasov. During the 3 days in there I could see both the peaks hidden in mysterious (or deleterious) fog and a clear blue sky, showing the majesty of the mountains in full light. And "cabana" at the top of Omu was a chance to spend a night higher than anywhere in Poland ;-)

The following two links visit the treasury of Bucovina - painted monasteries. Those pictures were made during the great tour guided by Ciprian Slemcho. The monasteries are the must-see point, while the must-stop is High Class Hostel (the name is self explanatory ;-) in Suceava - the best base for the trips around Bucovina (or just the best place to stop at all - take a look to the guests' comments).

Bolek Majerik is sculptor (and poet) living in Plesza, one of the "Polish vilages" - founded in 18th century by miners who came with their families from Bochnia to work in salt mine in Kaczyka(Cacica).
